چکیده

This study investigated the effect of aviation turbine fuel exposure on interlaminar and in-plane shear properties E-glass/epoxy composite. The two types test specimens, namely bare resin-coated specimens with varying thicknesses as per ASTM standard, were made out composite to evaluate their properties. These all immersed inside for months then afterward reduction mechanical like tests experimentally investigated. Test results show that ATF has reduced strength by 10.04 %, 7.83 6.01 % bare, 0.1 mm 0.2 resin coating, respectively. Similarly, was 14.75 11.22 7.52 respectively, modulus 10.87 8.94 6.52 coating conditions compared as-received (without exposure) specimens.SEM micrographs too showed indicated glass/epoxycomposite resistive ingression. It observed exhibited a in shearproperties due ingression polymeric network induced internal stresses, which not only degraded matrix fiber-matrix adherence but created micro-cracks at interfaces. Effect of TEOS Electrospun Nanofiber Modified Resin on Interlaminar Shear Strength of Glass Fiber/Epoxy Composite

Interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) of fiber reinforced polymer composite is an important property for most of the structural applications. Matrix modification is an effective method used to improve the interlaminar shear strength of composite. In this paper, EPON 862/w epoxy system was modified using Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) electrospun nanofibers (ENFs) which were produced using electro...

Moisture Diffusion Properties of Fabric Composite (Glass Fiber/Epoxy Resin)

In this study, the effect of hygrothermal conditioning on the moisture diffusion properties of the fabric composite (glass fiber/epoxy resin) was investigated. The water uptake of the specimens conditioned in humid environment at different relative humidities (0, 60 and 96 % r.h) at constant temperature (60°C) was evaluated by weight gain measurements. The moisture diffusion properties of the f...

Creep Behavior of Basalt and Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Composites

The creep behavior of basalt fiber reinforced epoxy (BFRE) and glass fiber reinforced epoxy (GFRE) composites was studied through tensile testing at high temperature. To study the effect of reinforcing epoxy, the micro glass powder (MGP) was added at various volume percentage into the epoxy resin in BFRE composites. The initial strain for all the specimens were evaluated and compared with each ...

Effect of Thickness on Flexural Properties of Epoxy based Glass Fiber Reinforced Laminate

Many structures are often prone to bending loads, which can result in serious damage. Therefore, for structural integrity, structures must be efficient to resist bending. Flexural loading causes stresses in the composites, which vary through the thickness. These flexural stresses are the maximum at the outer surfaces and zero in the middle at the neutral axis. In pure bending, the composite fai...

Multi-objective Optimization of Hybrid Carbon/Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Composite Automotive Drive Shaft

In design and fabricate drive shafts with high value of fundamental natural frequency that represented high value of critical speed; using composite materials instead of typical metallic materials could provide longer length shafts with lighter weight. In this paper, multi-objective optimization (MOP) of a composite drive shaft is performed considering three conflicting objectives: fundamental ...
